It's Bud Light with less water. Of course it tastes better. It's a total marketing gimmick to inevitably raise price points for the same amount of shelf space. All of the major beers are down in volume, but maintaining with price increases.
So they're also buying up the well marketed and distributed craft brews so they can maximize the profits. Soon all the big craft brews will be mainstream brews and the cycle will happen all over again.

Do you honestly think Grim and all the other guys that live and breathe working out don't pay attention to the calorie count of the beer they're drinking?
Edit: Bud light = 110, Bud light platinum = 137.
Only need half as much Butt Light Platinum so net savings.

smooth taste means it still tastes like piss water. I want a beer to taste like a beer. So unless Budwiser starts making small batch porters and stouts, it will be very unlikely I'd try a single one of their beers.
I must admit though I am kind of spoiled living in the Pacific Northwest. It's a beer drinkers heaven, though I rarely drink beer due to diet, but when I splurge it's going to be a good one.
I tend to agree and in some cases think they should be fined for releasing such awfulness like bud light lime unto the world.. but
their bud wheat isn't all that bad.
