According to the News Tribune of Tacoma, Margie Phelps, daughter of the Topeka, Kan.-based church's founder, tweeted Wednesday night that the church will attend the boys' memorial service to "remind" Gov. Christine Gregoire "they died because of her rebellion," a reference to her support of same-sex marriage.

Ahem. Listos version of everything.
Dude gets married (to a woman). Has two kids. Dude kills his wife. Loses custody of his kids. Social worker brings kids over for supervised visit. Dude locks social worker out of the house and blows up himself and the 2 kids. WBC states that God killed the kids because legislators in Wash. approved gay marriage. Cause, you know, that's obviously how God works. He kills kids from a heterosexual nutjob father who have nothing to do with anything because gay marriage is ebil. Obviously this is how God delivers these kinds of messages and WBC are the only ones who have figured it out.

So, he had two marriages at the same time? Trying to keep up the facade of straight while living the life he wanted, got found out and snapped?
What an odd story.
Pretty much. His wife find out, he axed her in Utah. After that he started living the life he wanted, with his gay partner and two kids. The kids didn't like it very much and started to lash out in school. Upon investigation, the school board found out about the shenanigans him and his partner performed to be together and involved the police.
Once the police became involved, his gay lover suicided himself so he wouldn't have to face jail time. Not sure what to do with himself anymore, the Powell guy just said eff it and blew everything up. If Washington would have never supported gays, none of this would have happened in the first place.
That is why they're protesting the funeral. It's all Washington's fault
