i should have clarified what i meant by quality was the image. for example, bunny rabbit antenna wire on one end vs 1080p type thing

the only OTA programming available now IS HD TV, there are no more analog television transmissions

This. But you can get hi-def to analog converters if on cable.

But the OP was very confusing because you still get the commercials with cable. Drives me batty on the rare occasion I watch a channel with commercials.

i think you meant to say that you can get digital to analog convertors if you have an analog set and are pulling down TV OTA

Nope. Between Netflix and Amazon Prime I've got more content than I care to watch. I spend 20x more time reading RSS stuff and playing games than I do watching TV shows or movies.
