Was just diagnosed with gestational diabetes, but that will go away after I have the baby (yay!)

Apart from that, nothing- not even chicken pox or cold sores.

I'm sure they also told you that it increases your chances of type 2 diabetes in the long run as well?

I knew that already.

In fact, since this is my first time with gestational diabetes I had to go to this "class" to learn about it and so on. I only really learned two things- how to test my blood glucose levels with the little monitor and lancet, and what my specific individual nutrition plan is. Everything else was old news.

At one point the nutritionist pulled out a box full of different food labels and was like "ok now we're going to learn how to read a nutrition label!" I just sat there looking at her and thinking "uhhhh...wtf? I do that all the time. Doesn't everyone??" and then realizing that omg, if they feel it's necessary to teach that then there must actually be enough people on the planet who don't have a first clue about the labels and...yeah at that point my head started to hurt.

Heart disease, diabetes thanks to parents and medical history I didn't know about. The diabetes is a no brainer to keep in control. The ticker isn't being as cooperative.

I was at the doctor's office with my daughter a few weeks ago and we were eavesdropping on a nutritionist talking to an at least 95 year old man about his sodium intake. He kept saying that he quit putting salt on his food, she asked him what he was eating. "a lot of soup"... the lower sodium kind... she had to explain to him that while it IS lower in sodium than regular soup, its STILL twice as much as he needs and he really needs to read the numbers on the label.

I don't think he could see the numbers on the label though, as thick as his glasses were.

Hell if anyone tries to tell me at 95 years of age what I should and shouldn't be eating, they can just go stuff it.

That was kind of how my daughter and I felt about the situation. I understand trying to get the most out of your final years, but why prod someone who is barely still able to live on his own by chastising the diet he is able to make himself.

Childhood absence epilepsy (Tonic–clonic seizures)

Influenza

Rhino viruses (various)

Varicella zoster virus

I've never had a symptom relating to HSV-1, although every member of my immediate family has it so I would assume I have HSV-1 by sheer odds.
