My GM people like him in management are one of the reasons unions where formed and still exist.
I have learned the truth of working in a "free will" state, especially as a lowly hourly worker.
I used to despise unions now, although I am not a 100% supporter but I do see why they form and retain members.

You would think working in a cleanroom environment making computer chips would be totally awesome and all that...
...except we have to kiss the ass of the Technology Development people and do things their way because they create the wafer fabrication process, and they are a bunch of anal engineers (think Sheldon on Big Bang Theory - VERY smart, all of them have PhDs, but completely ignorant on how to treat humans) -- engineers who think the techs (who also went to school, they just don't have PhDs) are stupid and have no useful input.
