Yeah they are losing money why you think they spend so much money bitching about what they are losing.

They aren't 'losing' money, but they aren't making the same money. However, good products sell. They make crap? They deserve to not make oodles of cash. They make a good film? People will want the licensed copies, or to watch it in the theater. I know that watching something on my computer isn't the 'film going experience' that I enjoy.

Plenty of studies have been done on the core issue of how much does pirating cost the content creators.
The answer has always been SUBSTANTIALLY less than the retail value of every piece of content pirated. aka, not every piece of content downloaded would have been purchased in the absence in piratable goods.
Its all vastly overstated and a lot of qq.
That said, of course it is still "theft". You are taking something instead of paying for it.

If you are looking at it just straight on it's not even a moral thing, it simply is theft. Luckily it is almost never enforced and probably won't be for the near future but it still is theft. Not just a moral theft but go to jail and have everything taken from you theft. While I can see the point as many people would not buy the item, and especially with music have never heard and thus never purchased an album it's still theft.

It is theft and I fully partake in it and generally it is to the benefit of the company/rights holder.
it is NOT theft....it is NOT piracy........it is copyright infringement...
the 3 are not synonymous
