Hum, assuming light traffic and a full tank of gas I could probably make it from my place over one of the passes in half an hour. I'm guessing the Cascades would provide more than enough protection from the blast (but not fallout).

It's about an hour from my house to the top of Snoqualmie Pass, which I think is probably the closest pass to me. That's assuming 60 mph, and my car will do 160, so I can definitely make it.

Yeah because no one else would be driving.......

Nobody would EVER nuke here... There isnt anything important enough to nuke -- glowing cows?

They'd certainly nuke Philly to the southwest and NYC to the east and maybe Allentown to the west but even if they bothered to nuke Allentown that is still 30 miles away.

It's funny to realize but why would any of our enemies nuke D.C.? I know if I wanted to continue to see America collapse, the last thing I would do is mess with the greatest cause of our demise. That and New York, sure NY is one of the epicenters of global financial terrorism but ultimately the damage is once again going to take us out first before it does others.

NYC is good for false flag attacks and that is about it.

"Miracle Mile" - great movie about "what if", and yes it is a nuclear threat(confirmed or prank?). What would you do...

Yep. I can easily be on the other side of a 3,000-foot hill in half an hour, and, depending on the season, damned near the top of Mt. Baker. Hell, I could avoid major roads and still get over that hill in the half an hour. Not sure it'd protect me, but it would be my best hope, really.

Heh, I would do nothing. If a nuke were headed to where *I* live - it would be because there was no fkn place else to bomb. I live in a place where people might go to hide out from a nuclear war in the first place, so if nukes were coming here... yeah... there'd be nowhere to run to.
