Note to silly basketball activity posters... see my thread title, that's how you let people who don't care about your activity, know not to open the thread.

Now onto the meat and potatoes of the thread. Who do you think made the best move this off season? I don't mean who spent the most money on superstars to win the WS this year. I mean the BEST move in improving their team.

Right now I think my Buccos are at the top (Pirates for those unaware.) A.J. isn't going to win us the Series this year or even get us in the playoffs, but for what we gave up to get him and the amount he is going to improve our pitching rotation I think its hands down the best deal this off-season.

The Angels, easily. Even without Pujols they made the best offseason moves. Stacked their rotation.

Pujols is the best player in the game, hands down. How doesn't he fit?

The Pujols signing will be a horrible move by the Angels in 5 years when he's getting older and not worth the money, and still has 5 years to go. In the mean time though yeah he pretty much fits on any team.

I still think he'll be productive. just not "great"

He might be productive, but he wont be the kind of money he's getting paid productive.

I'm afraid the Tigers will find Prince Fielder in a similar situation. Prince is still young so the deal doesn't look as bad but when either Fielder or Pujols slide into the DH role and make *THAT* kind of money, and you can't do anything to get them off the books, those clubs might be on rough times. In the here and now though they could be great teams.

I dont think age will be that much a matter to Fielder, he's younger than Pujols (and we dont even really know how old Pujols is). Whats going to kill Fielder is that he's fat.

The Angels? Really? They made a lateral move by signing Pujols. He might be in his prime now, but they have a couple of decent first baseman on their roster, including Morales who has been pretty great before he broke his leg. The Pirates made some solid moves, the Reds got Madson on a super cheap deal. The Tigers gave a ridiculous contract to Fielder but are in a position to give out ridiculous contracts. It's tough to say, the A's made off with a ton of prospects.

I'm going to saaaaaaaay, the Nationals. The Edwin Jackson signing is probably very underrated by casual fans.
