If you bought it in frozen foods it is most like sea perch. Not so awesome. You should go catch some yellow perch. I said white was better before, but I meant yellow. Those in the same family as walleye.
I'd make a terrible fisherman, we once bought some trout from the fishmonger's, it had been cleaned but the head and tail, spine etc were still intact. I ended up having to get Wolfz to take the heads and tails off because i couldnt look my dinner in the eye and then chop it's head off lol

We always threw perch back as garbage fish. I've never eaten one, so I wouldn't know anything about how it tastes though.
