NBA All-Star Game |
Well, this All-Star game is really strictly for NBA fans in the first place, not for people like you...who don't care about the NBA at all whether its pre-season, regular season, all star weekend or post season.

As far as me, I am a Celtics fan.. just started watching them in about 07 .. so I am not a seasoned fan
I will agree with that
BBall is 4 on my list of the Major 4
but I am indeed a Celtics fan

See that is the problem.. All star games are meant to draw in new fans and get them interested in the sport. Sadly it does the opposite. It re-affirms my not wanting to watch basketball at all.

but I am indeed a Celtics fan
Well as a Celtics fan, aren't you excited to see how the Celtics players will perform? As a Bulls fan I'm always willing to watch how Bulls players perform, even in exhibition games. During the offseason I even watched Bull players in overseas leagues.

Then you are indeed very young. Back in the 70s, 80s, 90s, and 00's that was the whole purpose of the game. To showcase the talent of the league and inspire more people to watch the product.
lately though its more about giving the players a mini-vacation and letting them screw around while they lose fans due to boredom.

Why? Hardly anyone plays hard, and no one plays defense. Its not like any of the players care either. If that giant white guy from Minnesota goes out and scores a bazillion shots tonight its not like its any indication that he's decent.

Well when they were overseas playing against Euro's, it didn't mean anything either. You just watch because you're a fan and you want to see how these guys develop, what they add to their game, etc.

I'm watching because I want to see Derrick and Luol. I know Derrick hates Wade and Lebron, now he's on the same team as them, I want to see how he performs. He's usually very subdued in these exhibition games and defers to everyone else, he hates exhibition games.
Luol, this is his fist all star game, I want to see what shots he takes, where he misses and hits from. I'm a hardcore fan, the littlest things about this game interest me.
