perhaps you missed the spread of photons in that image...and I THINK every time a photon was fired it made a pew pew pew (ish) sound. So many there is some cross-over because they were usually firing phasers and photons at the same time...
I dont care if its a phaser or a photon torpedo and they can pew pew pew till the cows come home.

I had lasers shot at my toes. It did nothing for all 10 toes. Not one single pew. Weapons grade too. Nothing.
