Same could be said for so many other things, still doesn't make it a good idea.
Why use toilet paper? Lets just start using washcloths instead. It's better for the environment, right?
Im not saying we should get rid of everything like that because in some cases (eg toilet paper) its just not practical. But in cases like this where you CAN use a more environmentally-friendly option, then it is a good idea.

No, I've never used anything like that. I would imagine if you're comfortable with an IUD or the ring thing that this wouldn't be much of a stretch.

To each their own, I guess. I think the alternative (cotton) is practical enough.

I've used these occasionally : http://www.softcup.com/ Before I had kids they didn't fit very well, after the first one it was better and then after the second kid they fit pretty well. I have a friend that swears by them, she's used them for nine or ten years.

Yes I have used one, a few years back. It actually works quite well in terms of the suction seal and whatnot, but I did have a couple of issues with it.
1. Once it's formed a seal, great, but actually getting it in and the seal formed can be a huge pain.
2. You need pantyliners or some kind of pad in addition to the mooncup, because, when you're taking it out or inserting it, blood is still flowing, and the mooncup only "catches" what's at the seal or above. Anything below is going to come out like usual, and there will be something.
3. Your hands get messy. Have to not only use toilet paper on your ladybits but on your hands and fingers, otherwise you'll get blood all over your clothes as you get dressed again.
So...yeah I'll pass. They have environmentally friendly pads too, you know, made of cloth and whatnot.

I haven't had a period for many years, but my first thought was, I'd probably sneeze and it would come shooting out. Silicon doesn't seem like something that would hold in place very well.

Nah, seems gross to me. I can see using them in the army or something, but no compelling reason for me to do so.

Fortunately I don't have to worry about it anymore but I wouldn't have considered using them.

LOL is right. Oh the visual!!
Anyway, no and no. I remember seeing these things years ago (chances are it was via ACF), and the thought of using one hasn't grown on me since. I think the whole "Look! You can wash it in the dishwasher!" was extremely unappealing too.
