The only advice I have is to consider if you will have regrets afterward. There is no changing the past. If you have ANY feelings at all towards her I would go or at least call her.
Did your brother keep in contact with her?

regrets seem to be what is hanging over my head
and yes.. While I had mom and dad.. my Brother was much closer to her than I ever was...
