Someone else gets to deal with it. You don't waste time cleaning anything up when you should be heading to the hospital PRONTO, and anyone who leaves that sitting for two or more days while you're in the hospital recovering is a douche canoe and a moron.
Besides which, it's not usually this flood like it happens in the movies. It's usually more just like...a trickle, or maybe wetting yourself. Most of the time there isn't anything to clean up except on your clothes (and see previous statement about me not cleaning it up!)
Yeah with me I felt something wet, and went to the bathroom. Realized it wasn't pee. Shoved small towel in pants, drove to hospital. No mess at home at all! Hospital got to deal with everything else.

We are in our room. I'm hooked up to pitocin because my contractions weren't regular. They started with a slow drip and will increase. I'm currently at 3-4 minutes between so moving quickly. 
As far as the water breaking, it didn't make a mess and I was prepared for it.
