To be fair, it's about $175,000 after taxes in New York. $175k can be spent pretty fast.
if you live beyond your means yeah 175k could go really quick but if you plan just alittle and save that much is way more than enough.

how do you pull your kids out of private school?
it's pretty simple, you just go to the office and tell them that you're taking them out, fill out some paperwork, then visit the office in the public school to finish it off.
of course, I'm sure the real turmoil is "what will the neighbors think????" or the country club people.... or my group of charity whores... Not that it's ACTUALLY difficult to do it.
In the same token, does he think that people with less money have no pride at all? How do you think that family of 3 kids feels when they lose their house in the good neighborhood, and end up living in the ghetto, and their kids have to go from the nice public schools to the metal detector kind?
Yeah I think the latter would be more difficult, I mean it's an issue of ACTUAL danger, not just damaged pride.

I would be ecstatic if i was just making 30k a year at this point been without work for a couple months now and I am going to have to move somewhere else to get a job cause nearby there is no one that wants me.
