I don't know that I could pick just one...I would really have to think about it for a while. I mean I seriously have an entire library in my house.

Impossible to answer with one book, I read hundreds of them a year and have for decades.

By age when I loved them:

..<15 Have Spacesuit Will Travel....Robert A Heinlein
15-20 Stranger in a Strange Land....Robert A Heinlein
21-25 The Three Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch...Phillip K Dick
26-30 God Bless you Mr. Rosewater...Kurt Vonnegut
31-40 On Hundred Years of Solitude...Gabriel Márquez
41-50 American Gods...Neil Gaiman
51>.. Everything Terry Pratchett ever wrote.

The Oatmeal Butterscotch paired with a Snickerdoodle
turned my cynical penis into a happy vagina
Then after an Oatmeal Cranberry and Double Chocolate,
it made my new vagina spontaneously sing the Trolololo Song in an elevator.

There's some delight in ale and wine,
And some in girls with ankles fine,
But my delight, yes, always mine,
Is to dance with Jak o' the Shadows.

Armor by John Steakley if only a single book.

Series would be Howard's Conan.

If I had to pick just one, it would be Red Storm Rising by Tom Clancy
