Worried about losing Admin Status? OMG now THAT is comical. I am sure the three managers who "work for me" would laugh at that as well.


Here is the truth as it concerns ME directly, just to clear up BS:
-I have been telling my boss for 2+ years to "merge the boards" and allow us to have our own Vault Category on the IGN Boards OR give me server space and allow me to dump vBulletin and then run it myself.
-I was told last year that it was "up in the air" but they were considering it, but not for 2011. I am pretty sure I even posted that here publicly.
-A month ago I was told it would happen sometime this year.

Now, if you take a few minutes, you will also realize this is IGN and what is said today may not happen in the future, so this entire thing could be delayed, but in my view, this is inevitable at some point no matter what and it is only a matter of time, probably measured in years and not months. IGN has been merging everything anyways and cutting anything not making money (See what happened to VE3D), and I expect that trend to continue.


So will it suck or not? I don't know. I would hope people would give it a chance and see where it goes before drawing an opinion one way or another.


As for myself, I have no idea if they will move me over as an Assistant Admin or make me a Moderator and I doubt they have even thought that part (the staff here) through yet. My guess is that everything will get ported over and we will be allowed to continue on, with changes to how we "do things".


Anyways, what I just said is nothing "official from IGN". Just realize there are no real plans except for "lets merge them at some point". When we know more, ACF and the posters will know more.

we are merging, but the board in and of itself will remain intact.

It will be ign.com/acf instead of vnboards.ign.com/acf [as an example]

Merged is defined as being a catagory on their (IGN's) system.

The same mental cases will be there.

i don't see why you'd worry about acf. i mean it'll look just a little different but its essentially going to be the same thing. if it ends its because people don't care enough about the boards to change their bookmarked link. as obsessive as most people are about coming here i don't think that will be a problem.



Bookmarked Link? Oh that would have been a good idea. Instead I always get here by googling vn boards. Hope I don't get lost in a few years when this change happens!

yeah mines dec 2001 but i never posted on IGN, i really dont care about post count or the date. i just read over the last few days people worried about these things so good to know.
