I didn't anyone could be as dumb with draft picks as Gene Smith of the Jaguars, but it seems I was mistaken.

i'm happy it's not the browns making this stupid trade...for months sports writers were saying it was likely going to be the browns despite the fan outcry that was a resounding "NO!"....it seems the management does have a brain....
Don't worry they are probably going to take a punter in the first round.

Redskins really do need a QB though, and since about half of first round picks never amount to squat, it's not all that bad.
Of course, RG3 might just not amount to squat himself. I hope not, I hope he does great, I like the guy. Hate the Skins though, so I'm a bit torn on the issue at the moment.

i dont buy any of the NFL Ready QB BS.
it's a bunch of analysts making that decision.
RotY last year was a work in progress.
plenty of NFL ready QB's have flopped and done much worse than project QB's.
Tebow took his team to the playoffs...he's NOT an NFL QB, let along NFL ready QB.

NEVER, he's the golden boy alright, but it's only because the "analysts" take golden showers from him!
besides that, the Rapist wasn't NFL read was he?
how'd he turn out? (ignoring rape victims of course )

I believe he flattened a Linebacker on his very first play in an NFL game then went on to win 2 out of 3 Super bowls.... He'll be winning a 3rd one this year.

You know who else wasn't NFL ready?
Joe Montana he turned out to be a HORRIBLE quarterback amiright?
Honestly I ignore the whole NFL ready, and future superstar crap cause most of the time the analysts are dead wrong.

I think the big reasons analysts are wrong is because they're either corrupt (Mel Kiper Jr.) or they belong to a network (ESPN) that NEEDS to cater to the big programs. The only reason that Brady Quinn and Jimmy Claussen were hyped up was because they were the QBs at Notre Dame. Neither of them have amounted to anything in the NFL. There was a little attention being paid to Chad Henne (Michigan) a couple of years ago and I believe he is without a contract right now.
They ALWAYS pay attention to QBs from bigger schools because they are catering to an audience. It's few and far between that you see the "diamonds in the rough" get any real attention. That is a testament to the team scouts because if they do their homework than they can get steals in later rounds.
