The only thing we disagree on is location in the end, she wants to be close to a hospital and groceries (less then 15 minute drive to either) and I don't mind a little bit of a drive if we avoid all the 4x4 "drag racers" we always end up living by in our apartments. I hate "city hicks" and there seems to a few in the community we live in now and the previous one.

Just based on the info you provided, house 2.
Always remember when buying, pay the most attention to the things you CANNOT change vs the the things you can. That is why location is usually the primary thing to look at.

The exterior and library area in the second one are both really nice, I like the interior of the first one better though. The rooms all look bigger and more open to light. Kind of low ceilings in the second one.
