pretty much, you can run around the world, but you gotta pay to do anything else haha. All my accounts are "silver" because I had once subscribed long ago, so I can't complain about that.

You can level and do all the quests, you just can't use the broker, limited space slots, only 3 classes, 3 races, lots and lots of limiting factors. SOE has some of the worst "free" games out there. It's more like a trial.

I appear to be addicted. Lots of fun with mercenaries. I am two boxing a wizard and a necromancer. Apparently one of my accounts had 1000 station cash for free. Can't complain about that.

Never played. Always tempted. I fondled the box in CompUSA a hundred times. Then i got the game magazine with that crappy AC beta disc....
I think i will give it a look.

4 races, 4 classes, you can BUY things from the Broker you just can't sell things.
If you're Silver, which most people probably would be as they must have owned EQ1 at SOME point, you can get 1000 AA's, which isn't bad. Pretty much you can do quite a bit of the game for free, much better than EQ2's F2P.

playing EQ1 is like driving a model T Ford, sure it beats walking but is far from a ferrari testarossa
take away the parts that make a game fun and non-grindy and you have EQ1
plays, looks and feels like a 13 yr old game
