This might be hard for you but we treat him as an individual and not as a category.

Except for when you [your camp] call him a conservative Republican.

Dick Cheney is about as much of a conservative as Jimmy Hoffa was....

Maybe a younger person who has a shot at living longer then a few more years should of gotten the transplant.

I was thinking along those lines too, like how LUCKY he was to have come up with a suitable donor! I'm also certain that he had to wait the same as the other thousands of people patiently hoping that today will be the day they get a phone call saying "come in to the hospital, we have a match for you."

The press must be SO grateful that a doctor finally asked publically about this. Now they can report on it as "Lots of people are asking . . . . " as their way of starting the "We don't think he should have gotten a new heart" argument.

Okay, I have to ask.

Rho, what is there to like about him?

dick is selfish. dare suggest that someone could be immoral who is selfish yet not harming others' rights and aynrandians' poor heads will explode. dear me, could the world be more nuanced than a terrible novel?

it's not hard to imagine selfishness benefiting the greater good. if i feel good about helping the poor then you could argue that my altruism is really just selfishness because being selfless makes me feel good. that's cool, selfishness isn't inherently bad.

the real crime is that selfish anyrandians just assume that their actions will result in the greater good as long as they aren't violating rights. i think it's totally lazy to just stop analyzing your own behavior because you buy into what that idiot rand said. being moral is an ongoing struggle, not something you resolve with your magical perspective. fools.

All these thoughts you have and no ability to express them coherently must be very frustrating for you.
