Do you have savings/funds/investments outside of your 401k?

Took a look at our "money" today and was curious.

Lol, I just deposited 90k in my checking account (form a second mortgage refi, got it at 4.5% for 5 years) and promptly paid out most of to credit card companies and various lines of credit, both my debt and my ex-wife's debt that I took over as part of the divorce settlement.

The good news was that I got some checks from my clients for 66k which reduces my AR which was around $200k.

Wish I could waste it on hookers and ale, but I got a g/f and drinking is bad for my health.

I could retire now, I'm 54, if I could get health insurance.

I will be able to retire @ 55. Insurance isn't a concern for me or my wife as I have 20 years in the military. Plan was to retire @ 55 since I've been 25 and still on track w/ no debt to this point.
