I win this thread. You people don't know what you are talking about. I have seen all of those movies, none are as bad as the one I identified. Stream it on netflix, you won't get through 5 minutes.
On a scale of 1 - 10 the first few Gor books were at best a 4 and get worse further into the series. The movie was a 0.
The return of the king as a book is a 10 and the movie at best is a 4.
You do the math. 
Impossible to divide by 0. As I say, I WIN THREAD!!!

The original was not good (lol @ the voiceboxes that kill). I loved Stilgar's line "MMMMMMMMMM. Shaiiiii halooood" and it has Patrick Stewert as Gurney, that's pretty hilarious. And the eyebrows on the Mentants! OMG epic.
Actually, I think as a B movie. There is a place in my heart for it.
I dont know why but that bit always gets a giggle out of me

I have been disappointed in ALL book to movie crossovers.
I thought they adapted the Harry Potter books pretty well, and Shawshank Redemption was pretty true to the book as well. Mostly I agree though, I almost always hate the movie after reading the book.

Eragon.
Not because the book was some great piece of literature, but that the movie was just that bad. Also, despite being a cheap rip-off of a lot of other great stories, Eragon ripped off really good stories...
A lot of Stephen King's books got horrible movies... but then again, some of his movies are amongst my favorites ever. *shrug*
