You can go ahead and erase any trace of "Dumb and Dumberer" from your memory. We will finally have a true follow-up to the original 1994 comedy.


ComingSoon.net recently spoke with Peter Farrelly during the "Three Stooges" junket, and one half of the brotherly duo confirmed that "Dumb and Dumber 2" is set to go in front of cameras later this year.


"We're getting set to shoot 'Dumb and Dumber 2' in September," Farrelly said. "It's the first sequel we've ever done and we've got Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels back."


Understandably, Farrelly wanted to make clear that he and his brother had nothing to do with 2003's "Dumb and Dumberer."


"We did not do 'Dumb and Dumberer,'" Farrelly said. "That was a studio thing. So we've always wanted to do a sequel and finally Jim called up. Jeff always wanted to do it. We always wanted to do it. Jim was busy, but he called and said, 'We've got to do this thing again.' He had just watched 'Dumb and Dumber' and he said, 'This is the perfect sequel. Let's do it.'"

"Dumb and Dumberer" had its moments. The short bus was absolutely awesome (they got the shortest short bus they could, then cut it to make it shorter), and I thought the actors did very good impersonations of Carey's and Daniels's performances. It wasn't a great movie, but few sequels are.
