Without trying to hijack the thread:
Toyotas aren't as reliable as you are lead to believe. But every car can and will break so that's not the only reason I would never buy or recommend a Toyota.

The FJ in particular rides like a 3-legged mule compared to other vehicles in the segment. The exterior is a love-it-or-hate-it design while the interior is vanilla plain Jane made with very cheap plastic. Seats are simply awful and also made from cheap materials compared to others in the segment. I could go on and on...

Above and beyond all that, toyota truly believes that their shiite doesn't stink and charges a premium price for a turd. If another manufacturer tried selling junk like this at the prices they charge, the vehicles simply would not move. You can get a much, much better vehicle for less or the same money.

Grats on the Edge - it's a nice-looking crossover. I was looking at those recently. Wife got the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited last year and after driving it for several months now I'm jealous (I'm driving a 2007 Jeep Liberty Sport 4x4). I like all the amenities, the leather, the feel, the ride...yeah...

...so I started looking around and thought, "Hey - I can build a 2012 Jeep Liberty LIMITED and just pay for another 5 years without an increase in monthly payments, provided I get a fair trade-in with my current Liberty." Then I read the reviews on the 2012 Liberty -- apparently they ride stiff, aren't comfortable, cheap cabin, and get truly sucky gas mileage. So now the shopping has turned from replacing a Liberty to maybe getting a Ford Escape, but according to this site, Affordable SUVs, the Chevy Equinox is rated #1. After looking at the Escape, and then the Chevy and the GMC Terrain we wondered if getting another crossover SUV is the smartest way to go with today's gas prices. So, our thought process is now switching to a nice mid-size car that gets great gas mileage: Ford Fusion, Hyundai Sonata, Kia Optima, or even the new Buick Regal. Yeah, I thought the same thing, but then I went and looked at the new Regal -- they aren't your grandma's car anymore:

The new Jeep Grand Cherokee is an outstanding vehicle. Based on the Mercedes ML platform, it's one of the best in the market for the money.

Yeah, the new Buicks are sweet.

Those are very sweet.

So are the GMC Arcadia and to a lesser extent the Chevrolet Traverse. All are built on the same platform and the higher you go, the cooler stuffs you get.
