Sci Fi / Fantasy
In the past Kaplan, who revealed that he is involved in the project, was asked if the game's genre would be science fiction, post-apocalyptic, or historical, and while laughing he responded: "all of those combined!"[3].
Also, according to some job listings and some inside sources the game will be a Sci Fi/fantasy MMO.

I have no expectations in this game or any other mmo coming out in the near future.
I bought into the years of hype over TOR and the game was fun until I hit lvl 50 and geared out in top tier gear.
I even rolled alts but in the end I got bored because 90% of the content is the same pve filler content.

I assumed it would just be World of Starcraft.
Why go to the trouble of creating a whole new universe and lore and all that when you've got something people are fans of already?

Because Starcraft is associated with competitive gaming. They want their MMOs to be purely casual with no skill requirements at all (see WoW success).
The two don't mix.
