My wife and I don't drink coffee - ever. Our oldest daughter actually likes a cup of coffee now and then. It didn't make sense for us to buy even a 4-cup coffee maker so we bought her the Keurig machine for Christmas. She enjoys it and it doesn't make a mess, nor does it make the whole house smell like coffee. We've brewed a couple chai tea lattes in there and some cocoa and it seems to do just fine.

If you get a good machine (I prefer the Cuisinart model) they are perfectly fine. The deal is, which I think the actual subject of this post is trying to be, you will spend far more in actual coffee using pre-packaged k-cups than you would with a typical brew machine. I am the only coffee drinker in my house and I always avoided these single cup makers for that very reason. When they came out with the reusable My K-Cup, I went ahead and got one and do not regret it at all. I bought it for the ease and convenience but only because I already get my coffee for free. The k-cups are just flat out a terrible deal and drive your cost of ownership too high to be practical.

The Oatmeal Butterscotch paired with a Snickerdoodle
turned my cynical penis into a happy vagina
Then after an Oatmeal Cranberry and Double Chocolate,
it made my new vagina spontaneously sing the Trolololo Song in an elevator.

I use one of these when I want the occasional cup of coffee. I limit myself to no more than 3 a week.

I gave up coffee a few years ago for health reasons (It sucked, went thru withdraws for months), can't have a regular coffee maker in the house (even had to box up my beloved french press) because I'll drink the entire pot every time I use it.

With that thing, I make one cup at a time. It's perfect....and I think I paid 2 bucks for it. I just heat the water in this , put some coffee in the above "sit on the cup thingie" and make a single cup of coffee. No muss, no fuss, takes about 1 minute from the time I start till I have my coffee.
