More than half of the people in this world should not be having kids. Ikko said that he chose to not have kids. By choosing not to have kids, he's automatically better than more than half the world in that regard.

As for Doctor Who having gay in it... so far this show with Christopher Eckelson as the doctor has been nothing BUT gay.
