Look, if I were joking, I would've said "what do you do with an elephant with three balls? You walk him and pitch to the rhino".

Wrong.

Based on what?

Compare yourself:

Nissan has the better engine.

Barely any. German cars are complete junk after 5 years.

Lexus ES350.

No.

Not just no, but hell no. HELL no.

You can't even afford one.

I could write a check for one. But I would never, EVER buy anything from toyota.

Never.
LOL ok, I forgot how rich everyone on ACF is. And you are a car expert! Yet all you suggest are German cars. I've had nothing but problems with BMW and Mercedes vehicles. They are maintenance and repair NIGHTMARES. Horrible reliability.
Point by point:

I don't consider myself "rich." Not by a long shot. But I do have some money, enough to buy a car if I wanted to.

Expert would not be the term I would use; however, I am a car salesman and have been for a long time. I happen to be very good at my job. Doing one thing for a long time allows you to be more skilled in that area than others. I doubt I could go to your workplace and know more about your job than you do. This is my chosen profession, I should know more about it than you do by the very nature of the beast.

I do suggest German vehicles first, yes. Because they are the best. The rest of the automotive industry uses them as a standard. Look at nearly any comparison test, it's "How well does this car/truck/SUV stack up against the German counterpart?" Ask any engineer in Japan, Korea, America, or anywhere else that is designing and building vehicles and ask them who they are trying to emulate and the answer will come back unanimously Germany.

As far as anything else goes, vehicles break. ALL vehicles. Doesn't matter who they are made by, moving parts wear out, no matter how well they are manufactured. Simple fact of life. Are the parts for German vehicles any more or less expensive than any other manufacturer? Not really. It doesn't matter if you don't believe me, it is the truth. If you think parts for a Ford, or Toyota, or GM, or Ferrari, or Honda, or Chrysler, or anyone else is cheaper, you are simply deluding yourself. Vehicles, even the "cheap" ones, are vastly more complex today than 10 or even 5 years ago. Parts get more expensive accordingly. You'll find out, you don't have to take my word for it.

Just because I suggest German vehicles first, doesn't mean that there aren't other vehicles I would/would not recommend. Not everyone likes the same things, that's why there are so many choices available in the marketplace.

Well I drive a '95 E320 one currently it was an exception but the engine, while powerful and long lasting, is filled with faults (faulty bad wiring harness, weak seals, leaky front of head gasket to name a few...)

Perception VS reality.

hondas and toyotas are made in higher volumes than BMW/Mercedes/Audi. Based on simple percentages alone, you'll see more of them. That does not give any direct correlation to anything else.

There are more GM cars on the road than honda or toyota too, what do you make of that?

As a side note: Any car company worth their salt is global.
