I went the monorail route and it kind of caught on. I build mine 15-20 blocks up on pylons. I did the initial run then Sneezy decided to do the trees. Works out well though and ends up being a nice run. We have a second spur going to Axis and a third, test spur, heading for the spawn for this area. All centered over the entrance to my underground area. Raised rail seems the best way to go, short of enclosing the whole run, to avoid being interrupted by wild animals or sudden creeper love.

Thanks, I was trying to avoid the monorail solution. Was going more for the in and out of tunnels through mountains and under water.

PM Steel your Minecraft username and he can add you.
Then connect to mc.omnikrys.com You can connect now and look around but won't be able to build until Steel gets your permissions set.
One issue right now is that you'll need the 1.5 version of the client to be able to connect. You'll have to find that elsewhere.
