On the Countdown to Cataclysm, Blizzard sent to me...

Five Tidal Waves

Tidal waves triggered by Deathwing destroyed the coastlines of many zones This has submerged Thousand Needles, wrecked Booty Bay, washed away the eastern mountains of the Blasted Lands and opened the Sunken Temple lake to sea access. Have you had a chance to explore some of the changes wrought not by fire but by water? Have you discovered any fun or interesting things that these changes revealed?

I don't want to spoil it but... as soon as you can fly in Azeroth, go take a closer look at the poor, poor Booty Bay statue. ^_^

That being said I really, really liked the raceway at Thousand Needles. I was sad that it was going away. But I went ahead and gave the new quests a shot and they were really fun too! More fun actually. Some quests had me cracking up. So because I think they did a good job on the new stuff, I'm not too sad the old is gone forever.

Edit: Oh and the whirlpools in STV and Darkshore are pretty cool. I haven't had the courage to jump in them yet though.

**SPOILER**

The new area I have found most appealing is the new coastline of the Blasted Lands. The quests there are fun, you actually get to help enslaved Murlocs by attacking their Naga captors as the Naga herd the Murlocs off to captivity. You will see a long, slow, sad procession of Murlocs with their families and belongings. The quest lines are pretty entertaining. Go check it out if you haven't already.

I had a dream. It was an incredible dream. When I awoke, I had a huge mess to clean up.

Hubby jumped in STV with his 80 mage and promptly died. (We did avoid the one at Darkshore.) Why I always travel as my pally with him when he's in an explore mood. <straightface> You know what they say about puddles and little boys...

There are those who play tank classes, and those that tank.
The weapon is only as good as the person wielding it.

I knew that Thousand Needles would be flooded and I knew that Booty Bay had been hit by a gigantic Tsunami, it was all on the trailers. What I was not prepared for were the things that this massive storm left behind. In Thousand Needles as well as the Plaguelands, colorful fish swim under the waters and bubbles rise slowly to the surface. In Booty Bay and all around Stranglethorn Vale the incoming wave must have swept wildlife from the out lying islands, as there a Monkeys and Parrots all about. In Stormwind the tide brought crabs to the once desolate canals. These are just some of the changes and the good ones. With this destruction that Deathwing inflicted upon the world it seems he has introduced us to a myriad of life that was brought in by the water.

Now if I could just understand where the camels in the middle of the Desert came from. . . perhaps they wandered out of Uldum when the gate was torn from it's hinges.
