I must be behind the times, I suppose, but I have the retribution aura buff on my mage, and was wondering whether someone explain to me how it got there? Last time I looked, this was a paladin buff and you had to be grouped with a paladin to get it.

Did you quest in eastern plaguelands recently?

Yes, I was wondering whether that may have had something to do with it. Like 2 seconds after I posted, I got killed by a couple of gazillion bad boys outside Crown Guard Tower, so it's gone now :-(

Yeah there's an NPC who follows you around and helps you fight that gives you that buff. It lasts through logouts and such but goes away when you die.

Did you attack the one guy that suddenly morphed into 10? That was a surprise.

Well, more precisely, he/they attacked me, so I just did what I always do in this game: I defended myself. Unfortunately there were rather more than I was counting on. In fact, there were rather more than I had time to count.
