does anybody know how this works?
so, if im in a guild and i hit 10k fish, can buy the recipe from the guild vendor etc.
and then if i leave that guild do i get to keep the ability to cook them?
inquiring minds want to know this and i could not find the "answer" on blizzards website..

You can keep the BoAs you can buy if you leave the guild, so I think this is a valid question. Unfortunately, it is not one to which I know the answer.

I really doubt those rewards are retroactive unless they say something like it requires rep, like the cloaks.
To put it into better perspective, if you join a guild, earn the required rep and guild level in order to buy the BoA's, you still had at some point earned the right to purchase and wear them, regardless of where you are now.

yes you can, anything you buy from a a guild you can take with you if you leave a guild.
that being said, why would you join a guild to fish up 10k fish to buy the recipe then leave? create your own guild, kick everyone and you can do it yourself plus you have a gbank.

Just make sure you are fishing 'pools' and not just fishing anywhere.

i didnt join this guild for the achieve.
i was just wondering how it worked as there is so little info...

The guild achievement is catching fish from pools. Not just catching any fish.
