"It's been a hard time for Pulver. His gym in Idaho struggled to get off the ground and his obsession with World of Warcraft, an online multiplayer video game, became something friends described as more of an addiction than a pleasure. They would describe seeing a Pulver who looked more like a ghost than a man, pale as the fallen snow, unable to pull himself from his computer." - From the article

I can totally see how this happened. Starting a business is HARD! I mean friggin stupid punch yourself in the face as hard as you can HARD! Probably one of the hardest things you can do in life. Getting that dream job and working hard to get there is NOTHING compared to starting a business yourself from scratch. Heck, even buying a functioning business is brutal hard.

And you have to put in 20+ hours a day to make it work. You cannot just say "Heck, let's start a gym and once I open the doors I can kick back on the easy life!" No way, not gonna happen. You gotta put that work in to make it work.

So, I bet he got in there with big dreams but not even a smidge of the drive he needed to create a business. Then he got disillusioned when it didn't work out and found an escape.

Also, the article is pretty negative. I couldn't even finish reading it.

The VNboards are so much fun! Its like my own personal train wreck going 24/7
and noone is actually getting hurt which takes away the guilt of watching.
