I'm about hit my first 85 since coming back with Cata (quit around BC). Playing a Pally tank and I LOOOOOOOVE him. Amazing character.

That said, I want a fun alt to play with. Ideally, I want one good in PvP and with great soloability. I realize I can just level everything, but I want to know where to invest my early JP in terms of heirlooms.

Right now, my decision is sitting between a hunter or a mage (and to a lesser extent, a warlock).

How is their survivability? Soloability? Fun level? PvP ability? Longevity/usefulness at 85?

Right now, I'm leaning heavily towards a Hunter. Seems the best to solo, most overpowered with heirlooms (Bone Bow) and great soloability and DPS. Only downside I've heard is that they are subpar come 85.

Mage is fun but seems to be a two-button machine with limited survivability. I love that my Paladin can take 8-10 equal level mobs at a time with no problems. I dont imagine a mage will be able to do that. Hunter either, but maybe more so than a mage.

Anyway, looking for input - what should my reroll class be for max fun/survivability/pvp/solo play.

Any and all input welcome

Thanks!

You're about to hit 85 on a Paladin, which does what you're looking for...

I'd do hunter or warlock if I were you. Both are easy to level with amazing survivability. Mages are good too but from my experience don't have as much survivability as the hunter or warlock. all 3 are good later on and all 3 will have the wicked queue time as being dps is just horrible (being as you have a tank you won't see a queue time but heals has one and dps is about 3 times as long) queue won't hurt much leveling but once you get up in levels to cata dungeons you'll notice it.

nice thing is you can do warlock and mage kinda at the same time as they use the same heirloom items so that would be my suggestion.

Hunter. Can't do mages.

I feel that I'm too squishy on a mage and can't. quite. figure. out. how. to. play. them.

Let me rephrase that. can't quite figure out how to play them well in PvP.

frost mage

Immensely survivable in pve and pvp; able to handle large groups of mobs pve.

Level them all.

It does not matter which one you choose, if, IF, you get one to level 60, you will hit Outlands again and chances are extremely high you will not level it any further when you realize you've already been there, done that, seen it, experienced it, and are pushing the exact same buttons to kill mobs as you were on your pally, they just have different graphics animations after you push them.

Your paladin can already tank, heal, and dps. No need to make anything else unless you just really think playing a ranged DPS is somehow going to be fun for you.

If you just have to play a ranged, then mage or hunter. You might like hunter pet management or you might hate it. You might like mage run and gun play style where you HAVE to crowd control to survive.

The whole time though, you'll be saying to yourself, man, this sure was easier on my pally

Now to answer the real question: "what should my reroll class be for max fun/survivability/pvp/solo play."

Death Knight. No class comes anywhere remotely close, at all. No comparison. DK's solo/ survive, and pvp even better than paladin, and way easier too.

DK's solo things other classes, even paladins, only dream of

But in the end, its still just another melee class so you will tank or dps endgame, just like your pally
