Very interesting article about the inner workings of microsoft, and how a giant starts down the road to failure.

Interesting how it points out the microsoft does not listen to what customers want, it tells customers what they want

Remind you of another supposedly un-toppable "giant"?

Well, considering that Microsoft OS and Office suites are still the most widely used on the planet it may be a little early to start the funerary dirge.

Similar to WoW having the vast majority of MMO subscribers currently so they must be doomed because burned out players on the Vault found a biased article against Blizzard...

I'm scared, will someone hold me??

I do agree with one though, it sucks when the big ones start thinking they know better than their customers. That just doesn't seem to kill any companies these days (except the small ones without the capitol to endure the vagaries of fate).

there's only two ways to run a business.

1. do what the customers want and hope you make them all happy knowing that you can't please everyone.

2. know you can't please everyone, do what you want/think is best and tell everyone here is what you get and hope they accept it.

and really... MS tells people what they want? compared to apple? really?
