Cataclysm has been out for months now. Many crafters are and have been maxed in their tradeskills. There are no patterns that drop off raids such as the patterns in Trial of the Crusader. Rumors keep circulating about all the wonderful changes coming to tradeskills, mostly in the form of new patterns. Pick a tradeskill and tell us what sorts of new patterns you would like to see for that tradeskill. Would you make changes to the basic recipe structure to make crafting more affordable? Would you add super high level items that required special raid only items? What about more crafter perks?

Craftable patterns that change armor appearances, gained by running old instances and raids via LFG as an 85. Though, they'd have to implement being able to queue for old instances with an 85 for it to work. Still...

Even though I raid a lot, lead raids, help lead a raiding guild, would have priority access to raid dropped crafting recipes - I really hate having crafting recipes drop via raids. It screws everyone else that isn't raiding (or gives raiders even more reward on top of loot and doing the coolest content) and in cata that is more people than it has been in a long time.

I think I hate random world drop crafting recipes like they did with the recent bracer enchants and metas even more. Utter fail way of doing anything.

So, dunno what to suggest to make it more time sinky or "interesting" but I dislike their typical methods of random recipe acquisition. Maybe put them on a faction vendor like the new one with epics, because you know, we haven't ground enough factions to complete and utter death yet - it's a mechanic we should revisit all the freaking time. Or maybe just make the recipes trainable and costing chaos orbs so crafters don't have to take it in the shorts for once.

I would make crafting the only source for player gear, with nothing being BoP. The highest tier of mats would come from raids and as PvP rewards. Everything under the highest tier would be found in the world, i.e nodes or mob drops.

Let's see:

1. Allowing crafters to select the stats they want vice turning out random stats for items. You'd get XXX points to allocate between Str, Agi, Int, etc., and xxx points to allocate to things like Hit, Crit, Exp, etc.

2. Apply some apparent consistency to mats. Why can my LW buy Pristine Hides but my Eng can't buy Chaos Orbs? It wouldn't bother me if they were hard to obtain as long as they could be sold or traded.

3. Allow conversion of lower level items into higher items. Let Alchemists transmute Primals into Volatiles.

4. Allow crafters to make BOA items.

5. Put in a random benny for crafters that procs when they craft. It could be a grey item that would give some decent gold, level dependent. The labels might read, "Scrap metal looks like Elvis Presley. An dealer would find this interesting. 100g." "Decant runoff makes plants grow rapidly. 50g"

crafting predefined drops isnt crafting. Its more akin to a repeatable quest with itemX as a reward.

always played my holy priest like he was a monk, to bad Blizzard wouldnt allow me to craft appropriate gear for my play style and the general consensus was that melee stats werent usefull on cloth.

Id probably still be playing this game if crafting didnt suck so bad.
