Ok so I haven't played in over 5 years. I reinstall the game patch it and go to log in. It tells me I need a battle.net account. I go to make one and in my inbox before I am even done is a reply from blizzard saying welcome to battle.net yada yada yada. The name on it isn't mine and now I can't make the account or play wow. The isn't any toons over lvl 12 on the account because I never really got into the game.

Yes, you've been hacked, and it is an inside job at Blizzard.

I was able to authenticate the e-mail addy but since I never made the .net account with that e-mail I have no idea what the password is. There is no simple reset option that will send the e-mail to my account

It would probably just be simpler and less of a headache to just get a new account.
