With the final showdown against Deathwing approaching, we?ve been keeping a close eye on players' progress through the current Firelands raid content. Before patch 4.3 is released, we want groups who are working on Heroic-difficulty content to be able to get as close to Ragnaros as possible, and we want players who are tackling normal progression to be able to experience as many of the encounters as they can. To achieve these goals, we?ll be toning down the difficulty of both normal and Heroic raids through hotfixes in the coming weeks. In general, we plan to reduce health and damage of all raid bosses in both normal and Heroic Firelands by around the same percentage we brought difficulty down for the original Cataclysm raids when Rage of the Firelands (patch 4.2) was released.

We're looking forward to seeing more groups of players face off against the firelord in the weeks ahead. However, before we make these changes, we want to give everyone a final shot at the bosses at their current difficulty level -- so this is a heads up that we?re planning to apply the difficulty hotfixes beginning the week of September 19.

Stay tuned to the Patch 4.2 Hotfixes blog for these and other live updates to the game as they happen.

Pugs still can't get through Cata 5-man heroics the raid finder is going to be a nightmare, I think a lot people are hitting 85 and just not progressing due to the difficulty and that is a real problem.

Looking for Raid tool raids will be easier than normal raids using a new level of difficulty (Looking For Raid).

So much for that, eh.

Because blizzard has done SUCH a good job tuning the level of difficulty.

Oh wait, they make it worse every time they mess with it.

So much for that, eh.

Thats because people always want to jump ahead and ahve others carry them. They should do normals first, get the gear from JP, then do heroics and trolls, get the gear from VP, THEN they are ready for 10 man normal cata raids. After they get that gear, they are ready for firelands. Its doable. With raidfinder, they needs to have serious gear check e.g. for 10 mans, check that the toon has at least 2 of the correct VP pieces. I would also go so far as to say it should check for the raid achievement. In other words, only if you have completed the raid once, then you can queue for it. I think with proper safeguards it could be made somewhat viable to pug the 10 man.

Or just unsub....

Its funny though, when people scream about "gear checks" ...

You must have the gear before you can queue for the dungeon in which the gear drops in....

You must have completed the raid before you can queue for the raid....

Cracks me up every time.

When they nerfed BWD/BoT normals, they did a good job nerfing them. I'm sure the Firelands changes next week will be the same. When I mean a good job, I mean pugtards can beat them.

I'm sure that's the difficulty level Looking For Raid will be around.
