There's been a great deal of discussion about the upcoming tier 13 armor sets. We like this set, we hate this one, that one looks just...wow...ummmm...ok? Blizzard has been releasing each new set of armor concept art along with a retrospective of the all the previous tier pieces. How do you feel the current designers compare to the vanilla sets? Is there a particular trend or style you'd like to see designed into future sets? Do you feel they are trying too hard to add a great amount of detail or should they add more? How close do you feel they staying with the lore and the feel of each class?

They don't. It's obviously subjective when it comes to aesthetics but the original crew knew what "theme" meant (and no, pink power ranger is not a valid WoW armor theme).

Yeah, how about not reusing the same model for everything with different colors? Like, class-specific motifs? Paladin armor designers, for example, could do well to look at some of the hammerite outfits from Thief:The Dark Project/The Metal Age. Warlock T5 (and T6 to a lesser extent) are an example of class-related motifs I'm referring to.

Heh...recoloring the same armor 6 different times and calling it New and Improved(tm) does not a happy playerbase make.

Bits and pieces are OK but they're just not working in enough related details, IMO. See above comment about motifs -- there's a LOT more they could do.

This is one of the first paladin tier sets I've completely liked. It's making me actually look forward to the next patch, along with the new holy improvements.
