	Oh no Dragonriders of Pern is one of my very favorite fantasy series. I HUGE loss for the fantasy/sci-fi community. It's just like Tolkien's Lord of the Rings, if you liked it once, you like it forever. Anne created a believable world, just like Tolkien did. More than just 2 or 3 books in a series. Many Dragonriders books are actually what in a computer RPG would be a "secondary quest" which is tied to the main quest, and it makes her world of Pern living and breathing. To me, Anne is more than your random "modern" fantasy writer, she's one of the "GREAT ONES", along with Tolkien, Moorcock, Howard and that kind of authors.
