Which faction to join?

I'm probably the oldest player on WE to have to make this decision, so I want to know which one I should join.
The main consideration is that I don't want to join a faction that has no players.
I see plenty of Radiant Blood around. Any Hand or Web players on WE?
Are there considerations for gear? for the stronghold/castle/treehouse resources?

At this point I have about eleven of my toons (from 4 accounts) distributed pretty evenly across the societies; but then I have been pretty methodical about it, wanting a melee, a missile and a mage toon in each. So I have 3 Web, 4 Hand and 4 Blood characters.
In reality, I think the only important difference is the look of the armor. In that context, I prefer Hand armor, followed by Blood and then Web. (Although I like the colour purple, I think Web armor looks just a tad creepy...  )

Thx Uldar, that is pretty much what I thought (the difference is cosmetic), but I had to ask.

I have one in each as well. I like Hand armor the best also.
