I've been thinking about this and would like everyone's opinion!

Enchanter + Cleric. Blue pet with focus shield and pbaoe

or

SM + Cleric. Yellow charmed pet and second best focus shield.

I think SM would be better for any application that only uses the pet; this means better pet damage and/or absorb by using level 50 salamander for example.

I've never played an enchanter so I don't know what i'm missing out on. Also, i've never felt a i needed pbaoe in addition to pet+focus shield when farming scales in the past (don't farm glass much).

So, the question is, how good is it to have pbaoe as well?

I've been farming glass/scales with a Focus necro and cleric and they aren't even 50 yet (48 & 49 respectively). I haven't had much problem at all farming in the dragon zones, farming afrits for glass and venturing down to labby to farm for myths etc etc

Nice, good to hear. I left out necro only because I don't have much interest in the class. Though, what benefits does a necro have over an SM or Chanter? I would think ML9 would make high level mobs a bit easier than just a necro pet.

To be honest it's just personal preference, i've played one in the past and I'm used to it. You probably could do higher level mobs with the ML 9 pet, but I can also easily kill multiple reds/purples with the necro and the bot small healing. I'd just pick what you are most comfortable playing.

On Mordred, the Necromancer has one distinct advantage over any other pet class: mobs do not cast on a necro pet on that server. In other words, mobs that would shred any other pet will only hit a necro with non spell attacks. Naturally, some things do not count as spells, such as Dragon's Breath, but for the majority of mobs, a necro pet is superior. If you could some how add in a mentalist to provide a HoT for the necro, it becomes almost unbeatable in PvE except Vs the worst of situations.

Actually that bug has been fixed.

All monsters will attack everyone, including all pets, and necromancer pet alike with magic damage.

I have tested this out farming ML8.10; Agne's Wizards nuke your pet pretty significantly.

Nice try on being knowledgeable ROFL!@!@!
