Valk, Thane, Skald, Or Friar?
Making a new and fresh start on mordred and was wondering which class would be best to start. I have a 50 SB and 50 champ(but long time ago things got messedup so i would need help on him if anyone can?), but i am looking to start a new visi so i can farm glass, scales, etc from my SB as well as have a char where I can help ppl as much as i can to help drive the pop up (I will contribute a lot of time to that) So in short which of the 4 would be the best option also every once in a great while maybe solo pvp with but mostly to farm. Before anything else i won't play a squishy so its just out of those 4. maybe a warrior or zerker if better choice

Rolbeig posted: How much has sheild really been nerfed is my next question and also why is friar kinda derp now, they always seem like an excelet class to play?
Shield block chance against dual wield classes was nerfed hardcore (-25% chance to block) against dual wield classes, so shield is all but useless against light tanks and assassins. Also, the duration of Slam (the anytime 9 sec stun shield style) was reduced by 3 seconds for the non-heavy tank classes. In effect, it's a horrible idea for any class except Armsmen, Heros, and Warriors to have 42+ shield.
I don't know what "derp" means, but think it's fair to say that Friars were changed from being an offensive hybrid class to a secondary healing class a few years ago. Compared to old school DAoC, I believe you'll find that modern Friars are expected to do more healing than fighting when in groups.

I would honestly suggest going with a farming duo or trio like necro, cleric or necro, cleric, ment until later when you have the resources to build a decent tank/hybrid that your looking to play(PS a completely naked necro is way less squishy than a naked tank hehe)

Friars have been and are still one of the best dueling classes in the game. If your goal is to find some great 1v1s, which on Mordred is a lot easier than on Ywain, Friar might be a great choice for you.
Plus, you can farm deep purples with no down time at 50.
