Don't really have the time to shuffle through 20 different posts to find my answer so i'm going to be lazy. 
With the new board changes, does this mean that I can come here and request personalized icons and sig icons and someone will make me something purdy or will I have to take care of that myself?

The people that make icons and whatnot here do it voluntarily and purely because they're nice people.
Basically ask nicely and try to give as much help as you can, details of what you want, sample images to start with etc.

I am pretty certain this board won't be getting closed down any time soon and it will be good to know that some good quality images will still be getting uploaded, but it's up to people like you to keep the requests coming in, if they stop, the board becomes redundant

Oh I always ask nicely..  
Sounds awesome, i'll work out what I want then and come back with a plan.
