I noticed some people have 120 by 120 pixel icons.

Are there new size requirements for Icon creation?

Please educate me.

Hmmmmm I guess is by viewing the recently uploaded files that there are no more rules for Boxy / vulgar / inappropriate icons anymore, even though it has been posted here not to make ones like that.

and no more animated GIF files

oh that chaps my hide.

They have yet to fix the GIF uploader. Knowing VN, it may take awhile.

There are still rules, although they have laxed quite a bit. A lot of the basics are laid out here VN Board Icon Mega-Help Thread
