I'm trying to figure out a way to create a background for my sisters wedding webpage. I don't want to just do a bg color, but I don't want too much color variance on the background itself, anyone have any suggestions?

Post some ideas, sample image maybe and someone can shop some variations for you.

Filters -> emboss. Done!

All I really want is a yellow that won't kill peoples eyes as they come to the site. She wants her colors to be the same as the dresses, and those colors are yellow, pink, green and brown.. how am I to work with those and make a decent looking website with those colors?

I'd post pics, but I have no idea how i'm going to about this. Right now, I'm struggling to do this because the colors are so weird for the web.

Mess around with a minimalistic backgroud....two or 4 pixels:

Here's a minimalist yellow/blue/white I made. You can use this for a repeat background. It should look alright for your back drop without having too much overhead. I can modify it obviously to your color scheme.
