I have read a lot of the gold guides but most are out dated since glass and scales sell for next to nothing now. Are there any ToA mobs that people still farm? I dont have a ML9 pet class but I do have a shaman bot + either a warrior or a Valk if those are worth a damn for farming big high cons. I checked housing and it seems some of the ToA drops like Sililia's ring other stuff still sell well. Was wondering what I should be focusing on taking down to try and make some plat?

I havent played in years and my temps are pretty ghetto but I do at least have all their MLs done + a few artis and random RoG for the other slots. Would like to spend a week doing some PvE to try and get plat to get a really nice temp so I can start RvRing again. I would rather stay in ToA since it seems the only other good drops are in Laby and I really dont feel like messing with FGs of Shades (tried to go there earlier tonight and go stealth raped). Also I dont know my way around there anyways. Will I be fine duoing high purples in ToA with a shield tank and shaman bot?

if you have a crafter, I think the diamond loop is still solid gold if you can salvage.
To answer your question, yes. a sham + valk or warr ca take on most mobs in toa solo. get a good aoe procing sword for your warr to shield swipe with, and the groups will go down faster. its a bit ghetto, but better than nothing.

Never messed around much in ToA so kinda new when it comes to all the stuff there. Not looking to farm lots of small mobs for glass looking for big purples for items that will sell on my CM.

Problem is that if you don't need credit for the encounter, nothing drops but glass and (if a .10 encounter) keys. So basically you are talking about farming Afrits. The weakest ones your Warrior or Valk will only get 1/3, maybe 2/3 of the possible loot, the middle ones you can do but it'll be a beast until you have better gear and (I'm assuming) more RR. I'm not sure you could duo the biggest ones, though really all you need to add is a Supp SM to your group and you will win repeatedly.


If your end goal is an RvR template and you already have ML's and artifacts, then what you need is dragon drops. Go farm the scales. Not for selling, but for using. Any cash drops and/or salvage you get along the way will have to suffice for your plat supply.


You may not be able to farm the Labyrinth, but start the LotM questline anyway and keep your eyes open for groups out that direction. That questline is pretty serious cash considering how easy the pre-Labyrinth steps are.


<edit> Not sure how long you have been out, but keep in mind that spellcraft overcharging is not what it used to be. You don't need 99% or MP gems, and the qua on your armor piece does not effect how many imbue points it has. This change plus a base AF buff means you can safely go cheap and work with less than perfect crafted armor pieces. Unless your crafter friend is gouging you, your crafted armor pieces will cost you far, FAR less than they used to.

not 100% sure but i think all mobs drop their drops whether u need encounter or not. I beleive they changed that back to old way a few patches back. As for play id say laby/dreads is best money on gaheris
