Yes and no. Its good for a few months, but there is a lack of truly 'new' content.
If you have already played in the laby, and have killled the newer dragons, then there is not a lot that has changed.
Sure a lot of things have been tweaked, and there are some new story arcs, but thats kind of minor. The only other game thats close to being on a par with daoc is lotro, (imo at least) and they are still putting out new expansions.
Its fun to play for a bit, and see some old faces ... but the truth is its the same grind it was.
If you dig that, then lord bless ya and have fun.
If not, its at least a couple month refresher.
p.s. - daoc may not be my game of choice, but it is the bar by which i measure nearly any other game i play. if there were a decent amount of new content here, i would be back.
It still has the best basis for pvp, the best targeting system, and since some streamlining was done, it has a very good system for training. Not to mention the low level /task system that I miss in every other game.
The stats made sense, and the math behind it was sound. Gear could be well templated, and there was not the constant fighting over 'best in slot' for every single item. Crafting actually had a good use, and nearly all players had at least a few crafted pieces in their temp.
I miss the the game, but more than that I miss the people that made it what it was. The population is just too low for it to be a real MMorpg.
