I'm finally trying to put together a decent template for my rr12 spiritmaster and having only played very sporadically for the past 5 years I haven't kept up with all the changes in that time.


How much arcane syphon can I have, or more to the point, should I have? I'm pbaoe specced. What else should I be looking at getting - are there any must-have items or abilities?


I'd appreciate any input/advice

Arcane Siphon cap = 25%
I can't remember if the Mythirian let's you overcap or not.


Jacina's Sash is a commonly used arty with 10%
The toon's Dragon Drop Staff gives 5% or the "Tenacious" version Slayer staff gives 10%
I think some of the new Summoner Hall drops include it as well
There are also some jewels & rings that have it, but they are aimed at archers and have archer stats on them rather than caster

The power Mythirian gives 5%. Jacina's Sash, Cape of Legerdemain and a few of the Dragon staves also give 10% so you have some options as to how you want to get to the 25% if that is important to your template. I recently posted a 25% siphon template using the new stats PoC gear. You even get a Jacina's like group power heal.

I'm having a play around with that temp you posted Trilo, I like the look of it, the main problem I have is I'm in the UK so don't always make raids but I come when I can (I rarely sleep before 1.30am which is 8.30 eastern). I'd like to get the 25% syphon in if I can.

If you're rr12, 20% siphon and RP2 will be more power generation than you're going to need most of the time, especially with all of the /use power charges available now.

My recommendation would be this template. I know it says it's enchanter, but it can be used by any caster, and I did run that exact template on my SM. If you have access to ML10 gear and a pair of the power regen cloth sleeves from Infernals seasonal merchants, then I would use this template instead. Same basic template, gets you ML10 cloak for essence resist buff and heal-over-time /use as well. Both templates have 25% duration, 10% speed/damage, CTR, multiple power charges, 20% siphon, and can easily hit +25% buffs for when you need to cast CL buffs. 2nd template also has +11 all skills, up from +6 in first template, but at rr12, shouldn't be all that much of an issue.
